Richelson: Any protocols for withdrawing Effexor?

Dr. Richelson,
My questions:
1. In your practice do you commonly witness the so-called Effexor withdrawal syndrome which many people on this message board claim to experience?

2. What are your practice guidelines or protocols used in minimizing the discomfort of withdrawing from Effexor?

3. If in your opinion there does exist the potential for strong withdrawal reactions, what is the mechanism behind this? Thank you very much.
