problems with stopping ssri for short period?

I read in one post that stopping and starting an SSRI for long periods could result in a loss of effectiveness. If I was going to stop treatment for maybe a week, would I have the same problems?

I haven't heard of anything like that, but if it does turn out to be true, you always have the chance to "jumpstart" an antidepressant again with Lithium, buspirone, or pindolol--sometimes this works within 48 to 72 hours, according to the Tips. It worked for me with Lithium and then pindolol.
