Cam, I'm sure you're sick of reguritating this info, but I'd appreciate your thoughts. I'm taking 225mg of Effexor XR. I increased to this dose a couple months ago after over a year on 150mg with good results started to go downhill... I'm considering changing meds or increasing the effexor dose once more, but I'm also considering adding something to help boost the Effexor. My main symptoms right now are hypersomnia/ lack of motivation/ and poor concentration. I've heard that Remeron can be great added to Effexor, but is it a bad idea since I'm already so tired? Would Wellbutrin be a better option?
thanks for any info!

Pandora - Wellbutrin may be a good alternative to augment Effexor XR. Although, Effexor XR at 225mg can be increased to 300mg or higher with increasing efficacy. Ask your doctor which strategy would be best for your individual case. This is a case of 6 of one or half a dozen of the other. I have seen doses of 450mg of Effexor XR and have heard of people going as high as 600mg daily with increasing efficacy.
Sometimes a decrease in dose of Effexor XR can increase efficacy. I have seen a decrease in dose work in a couple of instances, but not always (I have seen a decrease in dose require an increase again. You should be able to tell if a decrease works within 2 to 3 weeks). This is an strategy that should be followed closely by your doc. Talk about all 3 of these choices with your doc. He/she will know what should be the best trial for you.
I hope this is of some help - Cam.
