I had suffered severe migraine headaches for about 15 years. The severity of the pain was nearly intolerable. I visited several doctors, including a neurologist. I also tried physical therapy, nutrition therapy, and pain control therapy. At times, I had 2-5 migraines per week, which could last from 3 hours to 3 days. After trying over a dozen medications, my physician gave me Remeron. I started at 15mg per night, until finally at 45mg, I am virtually pain free, and have been since March 2000. My life has completely changed. I guess, the link for me was my sleep pattern (I never really slept through the night) and low serotonin levels. Please note, that I have gained some unwanted pounds, but for me, it is a welcome trade-off for now. In addition, the break from pain has allowed me to single out specific elements that may trigger a migraine. But now, even if I get one, it can be controlled.
I'd like to read feedback from other migraine sufferers. By the way, don't give up.
This is the end of the thread.
