Nausea, panic attacks - way worse than before I took the medicine, can't sleep, shakes, and just an all over weird as hell not good feeling. Never heard of anyone having problems coming off this drug?

I've been on and off it a couple of times in the last two years (not related to its efficacy) and never had withdrawl problems. I take 7.5 mg/day. I will switch to Geodon at the end of the month and don't expect a problem during the changeover.

Biochemically, Zyprexa does not act like the short-acting SSRIs, where you would see a withdrawl effect, per se. What does your doc think of this? - Cam

Never heard of anyone having problems coming off this drug?Hi, He told me there are many cases of people having a hard time getting off it as far as a withdraw goes. I have read a few people say the same on this site. I don't know whats up but I really did have problems though I'm feeling better now and losing the weight I gained fast. Thanks!!

I've stopped Zyprexa before, after psychotic symptoms going away and just after stopping I get really depressed and anxious. I never thought of it as withdrawal but I guess that is what it might be. It might just be the ending of the manic phase that was being treated by the Zyprexa. But, anyway, I too felt horrible, but it goes away in about a week for me.
In the past, I had the same reaction but I was taking an older AP, called Loxitane. After, the mania and psychosis was gone and I stopped the med, I quickly became depressed and gloomy and anxious. But, it also relatively quickly went away.
Actually both times the depression was very deep and horrible and lonely.
Anyway,
I hope you are feeling better soon!!!Jed
