Adrafinil+Moclobemide

Posted by Brian F on February 13, 2001, at 15:36:27

I was wondering if anyone has tried this combo,it seems to me that it could have some potential.
Moclobemide being an MAO-I should in theory enhance
the effects of Adrafinil or anything else for that matter,as far as side effects or contraindications I
don't know.

The package insert for modafinil (Provigil), the daughter drug of adrafinil, states that there is no information available regarding the combining of modafinil with an MAO-inhibitor, and thus encourages caution. On the other hand, it definitely does not list such a combination as being contraindicated. I was prepared to try adding Parnate to Provigil had not Provigil not made me feel worse.

Sorry. I can't share any personal experiences.

Good luck.

I'm contemplating Moclobemide with Modafinil and Trileptal. Also perhaps Mirtazapine occationally during the day, with Effexor).

I'm currently using Paxil, Remaron, Modafinil and Zyprexra with significant success for depression and SAD/GAD.

I was on Moclobemide for 2 months when I added Adrafinil. My blood pressure got quite high and it worked wunderful for some days, but then got worse (maybe due to worsening of subsyndromal epilepsy, whatever), and blood pressure dropped. Stopped it after 1 week. Adrafinil was at minimal dosage.
