Pdoc took me from 20 mg to 40 mg Prozac. Okay?

I went from 20 mg to 40 mg on Prozac. So far no problems. I'm 4 days on the 40 mg. My pdoc said I could take 30 mg, by alternating 20 and 40 mgs, or just go on the 40 mgs, it was up to me. He said 40 mg would be okay. I was on 20 mg about a month, and felt better but still had some nervousness and feeling blue [not most of the time]. Also, I just started a new job and I don't know what I'm doing yet. He also increased my generic Xanax which I take 30 or 40 minutes before bedtime. Anybody have any thoughts or similar experiences with Prozac increased dosing? Thanks.

This is only my experience. I took 20 mg of Prozac for a little while, then my doctor decided to increase it to 40 mg.

The day after she increased it, I took two 20 mg pills instead of one and I continued that way every day afterwards (until I discontinued Prozac). I never had any problems going directly from 20 mg to 40 mg. It never occurred to me not to do so and my doctor didn't suggest otherwise.

The only difference I noticed was that I felt better after about a month on the 40 mg.
