Hello,
I need some help. I'm getting increasingly concerned due to the fact that since I started Risperdal again my periods are extremely irregular ( and I still have galactorrhea)
I was hoping that Mirapex would help ( 3 mgs a day) but it has not.
What do I do?
My Doctor wants me off the Risperdal and wants me to try Effexor ( due to the fact that I had a relatively good response to Prozac but still had galactorrhea)I've had such a great response with Risperdal and Mirapex but at the same time I'm concerned about having these side effects over a long period.
I'm really worried.Anybody have some suggestions???? It would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Nat

NatG,
Pramipexole lowers prolactin levels and should lessen or eliminate the gallactorea. Try to get up to the effective dose of 5 to 6 mg./day though. If nausea is a problem order domperidone from the overseas pharmacy Farmacia Cerati.
You can switch from risperdal to zyprexa. Zyprexa does not cause gallactorrea and is an antipsychotic with action similar in many ways to risperdal.
