I stopped taking the Effexor XR due to the weight gain, and inability to sleep before.
After about a week or two, I was so crabby I started again.
This time around, I am not having any difficulty sleeping, or any of the strange dreams that I had before.
Kind of the opposite, I am staying tired!!
Havent had any of the weight gain again yet, but I am on a diet to get rid of what I gained before....
AND I am taking WEllbutrin -200 mg a day....
The wellbutrin is supposed to keep you from sleeping, so I dont think that this combo is what is causing these
effects.....
Any ideas? ANyone?

Yup. I've been on Effexor 2 or 3 episodes before and found it kind of speedy in terms of side effects, as with Prozac.
This time, I tried using Effexor in the AM with Serzone in the PM and was tired all day long instead of alert during the day and sleepy just at night as was the plan.

Can't remember where I read that taking drugs for less than two years at a therapuetic dose could cause them to be less effective in subsequent trials, but I know I read it somewhere...
Can't offer anything, except my experience: Effexor XR makes me tired most of the time. Fidgety, but sleepy.
Good luck in finding something that works for you.
