My Pdoc has prescribed 150mg of Wellbutrin SR to help ease the only mild side effect remaining from Celexa (20mg), namely some libido problems. It's my third day and little in the way of negative side effects and some benefit (libido wise) is starting to take place. From what I've read SR is generally prescribed as being used twice a day at 150mg each dose. Am I correct? My pdoc has prescribed only one dose of 150mg a day. Thanks

Virgil - When Wellbutrin works for libido problems, usually 100mg to 150mg once daily, will work. You should notice a difference within two weeks. The doc may bump your dose at this point, but if Wellbutrin is going to work, it usually works at the lower dosages. Three days is not a long enough trial, though.
Hope this helps - Cam

Just a quick note, I had major libido problems while on Celexa 20 and 40 mg, WB 300 mg, and a combination of both, WB being prescribed alone or augmented to help this issue. Within a week of stopping the meds my sexual problems were eliminated! Unfortunately the depression was not. I have never found an AD that has not affected me sexually.
Take care :-) Tori
