I quit taking Effexor, still going through withdrawals( 3 weeks!!! ) I will be seeing my Phyciatrist next week, she dosen't know yet that I stopped taking Effexor. She may suggest going back on, but since I'm going through such a bad time now, withdrawing from it, I doubt she could persuade me to take it again. I still feel I need to be on some type of Anti-depressant, but I'm worried about trying another. I was on Zoloft for 3 mos. then was switched to Effexor, was on that for a year and a half. I really have alot of anxiety over this, and don't know what to do!

I would encourage you not to stop or change meds and/or dosage without letting your dr. know. Sometimes it can be dangerous. Since your reaction to drugs can be a good indicator of what to try next, try to give your dr. a really good sense of the pros and cons of Effexor and anything else you may have tried.
Good luck.

Hi JamesActually, I don't feel as if the Effexor was helping me. I suffer from Depression,Severe Mood Swings,&Anger problems. I felt and acted the same as I did when I wasn't taking them. I didn't feel like I was getting any better, still not able to cope. I don't know.
