Thanks for sharing this. Tho I'm not on it, it is so important to hear these things.

I was once on Merital--exciting new drug the FDA had just approved, had been used in Europe for a while. I had to call my dr. for a refill and he was out of town and the fill-in doc said "Stop taking it."

Me: Do I need to taper off?

Him: People are dying from it.

Me: Should I have something else for when I just stop, or cold turkey everything?

Him: Don't take it. Stop now. Call your dr. when he's back in town.

So, I was pretty scared, more about withdrawal because the insert had talked a lot about it. But, I stopped, and lived to tell about it.

It's shocking when they find things out after a drug has been "tested" for awhile. Depakote has been around a long time, hasn't it?

Question to McMan: If I subscribe to the list (which sounds interesting) are you going to take my ISP or URL info and other info you can hack in a find out about (my deepest darkest secrets?) and sell it to evil people who will do something else with it? (really just kidding, but I never know about these things!)

James here....

Actually your point is well taken. People can no longer
surf the net from home without some form of protection.
Crackers will get to you sooner or later if you don't
close the holes. If you acn't afford a hardware firewall
the product "Black Ice" is < $50 US and is excellent to
protect the home user. Esp. at risk are cable and DSL users.
