Been on Celexa now for 4 1/2 weeks...10 days at 30mg...it has cut out 95% of my anxiety, but the past few days I have felt totally exhausted, not wanting to do much but relax and/or sleep...at this point my mood switches from ok to good off and on...I also notice extreme dry-mouth and many visits to the bathroom when I feel tired...are these still side-effects of Celexa...I know it's only been 4 1/2 weeks, and the Celexa is working for my anxiety, but otherwise I still don't feel right...so Celexa users, would you consider this normal and just wait it out for another week or so????

Mike, I have been on Celexa for almost a year (eleven months and counting) I didn't lose the dry mouth side effect until well into the fourth or fifth month. Is this something that just occured, or has it been ongoing? Make sure that you drink plenty of water, and if you still have your own teeth, get a saliva replacement, or special night-time toothpaste to help prevent oral deterioration at night. Best of luck!

I have to say, the side effects have gotten much less. Dry mouth was not one.
Any other meds that may be culprits ?
I had most of the early side effects, with trenours, weakness, tacycardia, food intolerance, altered sweating, distorted vision, flushes & distorted sensations, diarrhea, no appetite, ringing in the ears, etc.
Bear with it. Discuss it wih your shrink.
Things do get better

tdaneen,
Now that you are getting closer to ending your Celexa therapy. How do you feel about the anticipated withdrawal off Celexa? My pdoc says it is tough. Not meaning to cause unnecessary concern because everyone does go off it ok eventually. Just curious?
P.S. I'm going on month four.

My Doc and I have yet to discuss it, but it has started losing its effect on me.
That has been difficult to deal with. Celexa has worked better than ANY AD I have ever been on.
I have increased from 20mg to 60mg. The doc just added methlphenid (I hope that is spelled right) on my last visit as augment.
I haven't done any research yet to see what the withdrawl is like. I haden't really anticipated anything bad. But I'll be looking up some info.
Thanks for the heads up! I'll let you know when things happen.
So far, so good. Celexa has been great for me.
This is the end of the thread.
