Any Med docs with depression and GAD willing to share their
story? I'm an older pre-med wrestling with these issues
after the death of my father. Any words of encouragement?
It would be nice to know that depression and GAD does
not preclude a person from dealing with med school.

Tough place to be. Stress is a major contributing
factor. Med school is high stress.
The disease is beatable. It will require you to look
at your life & find a way to deal with the stress.
The meds are a help.
You can still do anything you want. Some will be
harder because they trigger anxiety sx which you
will have to deal with. No one at med school or intership
residency will give a damn about your anxiety.Hang in there, you will make it.
This is the end of the thread.
