What is Guanfacine and what is it used for? I've read about this medication on this website, however, the writer did not go into much detail. I'm currently looking for a suitable medication to augment my antidepressant (Serzone). I've used Ritalin in the past, as I also have ADD type symptoms, however, Ritalin tends to increase my anxiety related symptoms. Thank You! Dennis

It is an antihypertensive, but I think it is used for ADHD, especially for the hyperactive/impulsive type. Not sure.

It helps people with ADHD who have problems with frustration tolerance, in particular (it can also help them to sleep better, a problem for people who take stimulants). I believe it can also be used for anxiety.
