provigil ?

Posted by elise on May 3, 2000, at 9:38:16

I was wondering if it is my imagination or is it possible that provigil could be helping my agitation/anxiety from prozac? Also I was wondering if acne could be a side effect from provigil??? thanks, elise

Sorry I can't answer your question. I would like to know though what Provigil has helped you with and what other side effects you may have with it.

Thank you,

AndrewB

Elise,

I looked it up. Provigil won't cause acne. No mention of anxiety reduction. If it has reduced your anxiety this would certainly be atypical.

Doesn't sound all that far fetched too me. I know that my Social Anxiety gets worse when I feel tired and weak (especially if I'm very hungry, too). It's hard to be outwardly assertive and mentally self-assured when I feel "worn down". But overstimulation is bad, too. So for me, it's a real balancing act.

Elise, do you suffer from anxiety in general?
As you know, Provigil is pretty new to the U.S., and its potential effects in mental disorders other than narcolepsy (the official indication) have yet to become clear.

Please keep us apprised of your provigil experience -- I'm very interested.

Thanks,
Rick

have to tell you.....i really like this stuff!!!! I think the prozac is what has been causing my anxiety and I really have been better the last two days since I have been taking the provigil. I don't get it. I am not sleeping during the day, in fact I hope I sleep a few good hours tonight, but I think I do feel a little "brighter" mood and more mentally alert. Today was the first day I took 100 mg. 2 x/day. So far so good. Keep your fingers crossed! elise
