question to CamW

I've been doing some reading about various anti-anxiety meds and keep running across the word AKATHISIA, in the side effects column. They don't explain what this is so I thought I'd ask You. Hope you don't mind----Tina

tina,
Forgive me for butting in but I just happened to be read about akathisia this am. The textbook definition is

The neurological symptom of motor restlessness associated with outward signs of increased nervousness or other motor activity.

I'm sure that Cam can give you a much more detailed explanation. Once again, sorry for butting in.

Greg- no apologies needed, I'm grateful for the info. I definately seem to be suffering from akathisia, my muscles do what they want these days including waking me up at night. Again thanks and butt in as often as you like.--Tina
