I was looking at an algorithm for unipolar and bipolar disorders by a Harvard psychiatrist on Dr. Ivan's Depression Central site the other night that shows for depression exactly the track my doctor has been taking. First try an SSRI, if bad reaction, consider Effexor or Remeron. We tried Zoloft first. Then Effexor. Remeron was the only one I could tolerate. If that doesn't work, there are some questions in between regarding personality disorders and melancholia, but it
eventually leads to augmentation with Wellbutrin, which is where I am right now. If that doesn't work, it's on to MAOIs.Are there other algorithms out there for depression? Any other ideas?
