craving alcohol for nerves

Posted by rose3700 on March 7, 2000, at 8:14:50

Hello,

I have another question? What are the hospitals like if you admit yourself???? Like i said before, 300mg of zoloft, tegretol, ativan, and zyprexa. Now, I am craving alcohol to calm my nerves. (If someone says the wrong thing to me, I will go into a panic attack) and it lasts about 10-15 sec. heart racing and sweats.

please help me
Rose

Hi Rose - I'm sorry you're feeling so anxious. You're question isn't entirely clear. Do you have a problem with alcohol? With your mix of meds, alcohol is certainly something you want to avoid. Are you wondering if the hospital will take you if you admit yourself? Or, are you curious about what takes place during alcohol rehab? If anxiety is the problem, you may just need to have your meds adjusted. If you feel like you have a drinking problem, this is something you should talk to your doc about - don't hesitate to call his/her office between visits!
