I could not post a response from the group of postings. I kept getting cut off!

Ditto! Interestingly the header wouldn't accept an ampersand (&) inbetween C&J...go figure...technology...so many jobs...such poor design... ; )
Here's something I attempted to post, several times this a.m., as part of a thread that I think Janice initiated...
Re: Janice CW...
Posted by dj on February 20, 2000, at 9:26:29USA Jr is a good description of cowtown, given all the Texas oilmen there...and that it's probably more similar to Denver than most Canadian cities. If it wasn't for the nearby Rockies, and the lack of a major water source it would be more like T.O. (familiar place, eh, J? : ).
Cam, my recall obviously failed me and I didn't want to go scrolling. I know Spruce Grove, by rep. at least. I try not to go that far north, generally ; ).J., when you say that elk kill more people than bears I assume you are talking about gawking tourists (gorbies as we used to call them in Banff) busy rubber-necking the scenery and running into these poor critters. Or the alternative is the elk are so tired of being poked and prodded by gorbies that they chase them into a cool creek, which being flatlanders they don't know how to navigate.
When Alberta's license plates were yellow they used to call them beginners licenses out here, cuz them cowboys weren't used to navigating curves, which we have a bit more of here. And then there are the off-shore hordes who arrive on these shores and go into hilarious manic fits at the site of snow. And a yellow light to so many here, as Cam indicates, is just a signal to accelerate their metal mausoleum thru intersections and unsuspecting pedestrians, never mind elk...

> >dj - You are partially right, except our wild dogs at called coyotes, not cayotes, no matter how bad your southern-drawl is. Just to keep the record straight. The coyotes eat mice and keep our varmit population down, due to the near extinction of our timberwolves and mountainlions (sigh). Thanks for thinkin' of us yokels. - Cam W.

The cayotes are from Janice's posting but probably my pronunciation, which incorporates a lot of geography...maybe a cayote is a coyote on peyote...we have them out around the wilderness fringes of Vancouver & in Stanley Park to keep small domestic rodents and their owners on alert...

It does that on purpose, because an & might confuse the script, because it has a special meaning.
