Harry B's Daily Check-in

Posted by Renee N on February 14, 2000, at 23:21:45

Harry,
Where are you? Did you make it to work today. Noa didn't. Maybe you two can get eachother motivated! How are you feeling?
Work sucked for me today. I subbed for the class from Hell! I feel better though, because I finally got assertive enough to tell that district's sub caller to take me off their list! :) I also had fun doing some volunteer work for a used bookfair at my son's school. I loved every minute of that. Renee N

I was wondering about Harry's check-in, too.

Renee, you have a hard job--substitute teaching. It takes courage to go into a new classroom with kids you don't know, every day. Glad to see you take some control of the situation.

Thanks Renee & Noa.

No, did not make it into work Mon or today. Feeling
very lethargic and empty. Talked to my employer
earlier, told him I will *try* to go in tomorrow.

Saw a psychiatrist yesterday. In addition to the
Serzone and Klonopin, she prescribed Nortriptyline.
Anyone care to share they're thoughts, experiences,
on Nortriptyline?

She said she would not have started me on the Serzone,
but since I'm taking it, to continue with it. That
doesn't make sense. If she thinks another med would
be more effective, why not stop the Serzone and try
something else?

I asked her about taking advantage of my short/long
term disability insurance. She said to discuss it
with my psychologist. I already did that and he
doesn't want to go that route.

She also was concerned about the suicide ideation,
and made several comments about having me hospitalized.
I would not consent to that.

Noa,
Thanks for the support. Most days I love my job! I am very comfortable with children and always have loved school. I enjoy the variety.

Harry,
Your news is not good. Well, it is good that you spoke to your pdoc and employer. If the new med doesn't help, maybe the hospital would be your safest option. I don't know what it's like, or if you have been hospitalized before or not. Promise us that you will allow them to hospitalize you before carrying out any kind of self harm. Can you do that much?
Your Babbler-Buddy, Renee N
