Stimulant induced Narcolepsy

I’ve had to take several different stimulants for both ADD and narcolepsy, but after 2 years of trying Dexedrine, Adderall, Ephedrine and even Phentermine (not all at once). I found out that every one of these meds cause me to be even more narcoleptic than I was before I started taking them. Can anyone possibly shed some light as to why this is happening?
