Wellbutrin with Serzone

Posted by CT on January 28, 2000, at 15:06:43

I have been on Serzone since June of 99 - Every few weeks I kept having to increase my dosage and I have reached the max which is 600mg of serzone at night. I am slowing descending again into depression so my Pdoc had prescribed Wellbutrin as a booster - 1 75mg in morning & another in afternoon. Anyone have any comment? I haven't taken any Wellbutrin because I hate side effect and am not willing to experience today - maybe tommorrow. Any information anyome is willing to contribute will be deeply appreciated my me - Thanks to all -CT

CT - I haven't personally seen this combination used, but according to the literature it should be safe and may be effective. It might be worth a try.
The side effects of Wellbutrin may be evident, especially during the first couple of weeks. Ask your doctor about starting you on a lower dose of Wellbutin to lessen these side effects and raise it in a week. Side effects you may experience will be agitation or jitteriness. You may also have some trouble falling asleep for a couple of weeks, especially starting at a higher dose. Good luck.
