I have an ongoing weight loss/irritable bowel problem. I just had the flu for 6 weeks and lost 5lbs. (a lot for me). The last ten days, I've had tachycardia constantly (heart checked out ok). I have had occasionaly panic attacks before, but never ongoing tachycardia. Can this be anxiety? I'm physically and psychically worn out. Thanks

Perhaps it is time for a good, thorough physical check up. It might be anxiety, but since you have just suffered an extended physical illness, it could be related to that.

You might have an electrolyte imbalance, i.e., you're
not "just" shitting your brains out. IBS and the flu
get the water balance in your body (gut) out of whack,
causing you to also eliminate important minerals such
as potassium and magnesium. These and others are necessary
for proper functioning of the heart. You could try
something like GAtorade or one of the OTC "sport-drinks",
but frankly, I'd ask your Doc to prescribe something
stronger. In fact, please don't hesitate to go to the
emergency room if you're feeling especially weak and
out of it. You CAN die from this, so be certain you
notify any friend(s)/family/etc who could be with you
in case you pass out.
Let us know how you're doing!

Thanks for asking Bertha. I'm on Luvox, which is helping tremendously for anxiety. MD's are still working on tachycardia. Appreciate the concern.
