Andrea -- I just want to let you know that you are not alone with these kinds of initial side effects. I also experienced the burning sensations when I started Prozac, and the tingling, and then a sort of inner restlessness/anxiety feeling where I just felt sort of agitated for awhile. For me at least, all of these effects disappeared after several weeks. I always noticed that days 2,3, and 4 of a new dose were the worst, side effect wise. Good luck and keep us posted.

Andrea,
I wouldn't worry about your side effects too much unless they really get severe, but I will mention a couple things. First, Prozac stays in your body a *long* time (it takes about a week for a half of a dose to get out of your system)... This means that it tends to steadily "build up" in you over the first few weeks, which can have an impact on side effects. I'm a bit surprised your doctor raised your dosage to 30mg during your first week if you were having an unpleasant reaction--some people do much better starting at 10mg (or 5mg!) and working their way up toward 20mg as they can tolerate it. (Of course, there are also people who tolerate Prozac well and who only benefit from it at doses from 20 to 60mg.) Again, if you're concerned with how it's making you feel I would contact your pdoc and ask about lowering your dose until you feel better acclimated.
best,
