If you are stopping an SSRI and starting an MAOI, does the washout period differ for the different SSRIs? I know that the "standard" washout period is 5 weeks, but I've heard that for some of the SSRIs with shorter half-lives, such as Celexa, only a 2 or 3 week washout period may be needed, whereas for Prozac the period is definitely 5 weeks. Does anyone know the periods for the individual SSRIs, if this is true?

5 weeks for Prozac, 2 for all others, is the "official" recommendation.
