What are you taking? Some contribute more to weight gain than others.
And yes, people have taken antidepressants for OCD or for depression and not gained weight.
(If it helps, I gained over 50 pounds on Paxil a few years ago.)

I gained about 30lbs. on sertraline (Zoloft). I kept it on with venlafaxine. I kept it
on with nefazodone. I kept it on in a big way with mirtazapine. I started losing it
very quickly with selegiline. My weight gain may not have been due to sertraline, but I suspect it was. This would
be an unusual reaction, in any case. Again, the same is true of venlafaxine. It seems
most people lose weight with this drug, and find it ennervating. My response was just
the opposite. Weight gain is a common side effect of mirtazapine.Unfortunately, some people seem to have unexpected, even paradoxical reactions to certain
medications. SSRIs, (the standard pharmacological treatment for OCD these days) for the
most part, seem to have no effect on weight, or cause people to lose weight. If your response
is different, as your doctor if there are other drugs you can try, or for tips on how to
manage your diet and exercise to counteract this side effect.Having said that, for me it was an uphill battle that I pretty much lost, and the solution
I found was to try a different drug and focus on CBT as a way to deal with OCD.> What are you taking? Some contribute more to weight gain than others.
