Hiya,
Anybody find that Klonopin helped decrease irritability or anger? I'm looking for something for this (it's a side effect from another med) and am reluctant to try mood stablizers because I'm sick of dealing with significant side effects.
Does anyone have any suggestions besides Klonopin or Buspar? So far I've tried clonidine, ativan, small doses of Remeron and of Zyprexa, none of which helped.
Thanks!

Hi Anita!
I'm on clonazepam (generic K) and it has done WONDERS for settling my nerves. For me, it wasn't irritability but panic disorder.
My first time around on Wellbutrin, I had side effects that took me beyond irritable. WAY beyond. My pdoc put me on perphenazine (brand name Trilafon) at a *really* low dosage -- 4mg/d. It's an anti-psychotic, and it did its job rather well. It was a bit sedating for me, though, even at that low level.
The nice thing about klonopin is that it acts fast. If you give it a trial, you should know within just a few days if its going to deal with the irritability. If you react at all like I did, you'll know an hour after you take the first pill. I'm only on 1mg/d, so I can't say that I've had any side effects at all at this level.
If only I could find an AD that works as well as clonazepam has on my panic! I'd be one happy camper.
Bob
