suffering on paxil

Posted by annie on August 6, 1999, at 21:10:22

Will somebody please help me! I am now taking paxil, and i want to try to get off of it. My doctor told me to take 10mg a day, then eventually stop, but i can't because everytime i do, i have these brain tremors, headaches, and nausea. I have also acted really loopy and been really quick to yell. i want to get off of this because of the side effects that i am sick of (can't orgasm), but it has been hell. Does anyone have any advice?

I've been on most of the newer AD's. The only one that had less sexual side effects than Paxil was Celexa. Ask your doctor if this is a good match for you. I can relate to the problem. good luck.

Annie,

I would try to gradually ease off Paxil (taper dosage) and/or supplement with Prozac while tapering. Also, check out the posts in July and June on Paxil withdrawl. I went through a real bruiser of a month getting off of Paxil so I can sympathize with you.

Best wishes,
Erin
