Yes, I was on it for about a year without side effects . My doctor thought a lot of it and prescribed it a lot with success.> Does anyone have any experience with taking risperdal(risperidone) for major depression? value? side effects? ect.

I've been taking it for about a year too. I originally started taking it for anxiety (while I was also taking lamictal). It was very effective for that. Since then my doc has said that there is now some research that suggests that it may also have an anti-depressant effect.
The one side effect that I've had is excessive fatigue. At 4 mg. I was napping for about an hour a day + sleeping about 9 1/2 hours. At 3 mg I've stopped napping and am only sleeping 9 hours.
