My grandson age 13 was taken off Prozac (which wasn't helping ) and put on Remeron ,Adreal and Resperdal.
He seems more depressed ( talks suicide) and has violent outbursts . When not like this he is very kind and thoughtful. Total opposites. Do these new drugs sound right .He has been on these 3 for about 2 weeks.

I guess I would wonder about the Adderal - could be causing the outbursts. Might ask the doc if he could try it without the stimulant and see what happens? A thought. Good luck.

Most bipolar kids are put on a mood stabilizer such as Depakote as well as an anti-depressant. The Depakote can help even out the extremes. Is your grandson being treated by a psychiatrist? Even if he is not bipolar, these drugs seem to be beneficial for people who have anger/agression problems.
