There are some very good pdocs out there. I have one, and I pray you get one too. If your meds are changed, muster up the courage and just go for it. We will be here with you to hold your e-hand through it. Hey, your answer may be right around the corner.
God bless.

Hey Mystic,
I think that going to a psychiatrist would be a really good idea. There is obviously a lot of anxiety even under your medication. I also really think you should find a good cognitive behavioral therapist. I think that you will find it sooooo helpful, studies show that it is as helpful as taking medication. I know that you have a lot from your past to deal with, likely in situations such as your, medication will allow you to be stable enough to confront your past. It is then that you will begin to find peace. Mystic, you know I love you and want to see you be happy and healthy. If you need to get on another medication do so, but remember that medication will only take you so far. Good luck, I hope today is a good one for you!
Love,
lexy

Hey Anakin,
I am so sorry to hear about your difficulty on your honeymoon. It was alot better to be safe then sorry and of course putting your mind at ease is important too. Sometimes the unknown is worse than the actual problem. I have a friend who had pluersy and she suffered terribly. She said that it was the worst pain she ever experienced. I feel for you and hope that you get better fast. Can't wait to see the pics. Prayers and happy thoughts coming your way, Mrs. C

Hey Lexy thanks for the post I appreciate it alot..you are the best and always there as is so many on the posts...I dont know if I mentioned but I am seeing a therapist whom I really like the best I have ever had but we are at a standstill and she has now referred me to her associate to do some EMDR treatment..I'm very nervous about it as 1) a man is doing it 2)I'm not really excited about bringing up my childhood memories to try to process them and 3)I just want something to work and feel like I am running out of options...I feel that the meds do all that they can do but the feelings I have are still so strong...I'm doing my best to push ahead and feel like I really work at it and really try my best..So this will be the next direction that I go...I'm a little discouraged as I have gained 3 lbs going from 10 to 15 to 17.5 and I havent been eating all that much more and still working out a lot for 5-6 days a week..As I mentioned my dr will be talking to me this week as to what to do if anything about the meds..Being med phobic it will be hard to go off one and try another as you all well know...But I will deal with that after I find out what she wants me to do and maybe it will be to see a psychiatrist as I mentioned before... I will just take it one day at a time...It is a beautfiful day out there and am going to try to enjoy it...Take care lexy and hope you went shopping and bought tons of stuff to celebrate your accomplishments...Thanks everyone...Luvya Yoyo's Your friend Mystic

Hey Mystic,
I hope today finds you feeling better. I won't even pretend I can understand your fear of facing your childhood memories. One thing you can do for yourself is write down the postives and what is going on when you are not feeling anxious. Dwell on those things and try to add on to them. Figure out your anxious thoughts, like many anxious or depressed thoughts begin with "What if" "Will I" and sometimes "Can I". I know when I was depressed it helped me a lot to isolate those thoughts and challange them, "If I go out with my friends will they know that I am a depressed mess?" "Will I start crying in a session with my new client?" I challaged those thoughts with real life experiences such as "Well, last time I went out with my friends, nothing bad happened" or "Last time I saw my client I helpped this person then felt better". Our brains work against us but the reality can help us. Just think, you had a painful childhood but you made it though, you helped your daughter have a safe happy childhood and now Ryan will have the same, all because you were strong enough to break the cycle. You are such a strong and wonderful person Mystic, try to dwell on your amazing strenght and will.
Love you!!!
Lexy
PS. When I told my parents that I passed the test, they went to Louis Vuitton in Vegas so I am awaiting a wonderful package!!!

Hey Bride,
I am doing well. Just hanging out at home. I took my big licsensure test on Friday, God was with me, I passed. I am super smart in school (3.9 GPA) but give me a timed test that will detrimine my future and man, anxiety city. Anyway, I was able to accept my job... I am going to be working for the university down here, doing therapy, helping the univ set up clinic and teaching a seminar to medical resident. (mmmm boys in scrubs, I can't touch but I can look!)
I think the job will be a lot of fun but a lot of hard work.
My boyfriend is out of town for the summer so I am bumming around. I haven't put makeup on in like 3 days which is a record for me...hahaha.
So tell me about your wedding, what kind of flower, how many bridesmaid, whats the cake look like, whats your dress look like, what do their dresses look like... I want to know!!!!!
Can't wait to hear from ya!

Bride make sure at your wedding you take like 5 mins with your husband and just sit back and take it all in. It is amazing to have all of those people in one place that are there for you because they love you. It is easy to forget that with all the picture snapping and wedding hype that goes on...sit back, and take it all in because it goes way too fast!!!

Hi Mystic - I went to my dr. on Friday. I told him how foggy/tired I am and also about the weight gain. He is switching me to Wellbutrin which is supposed to be more "activating" & should help on both counts.
I'm taking 10mg of Lex every other day then every 3rd day for the next 10 days, while starting the Wellbutrin at about day 7 of this withdrawal period. I'm having some reactions to the lower dose in that I cried and yelled and fought with my husband a bit over the weekend - Yuck!! Like my old self! It makes me remember why I need to be on meds right now - ha!
Anyway, let me know what your doc says. I'm a little nervous about switching meds, but also eager to get rid of the fatigue because it's effecting my job and my safety (so tired when driving!!). I also had blood work done to be sure it's not anything else.
I hope you can find a good solution Mystic, you deserve to start feeling some improvement!!

Hey Everyone...Went to the drs yesterday and she is going to check with another dr about maybe switching to something else also..I hate to do that being med phobic and all but the lex just doesnt seem to be helping although it is only a week sunday that I have increased to 17.5 but my memory is horrible and that might go away but feel the weight starting to creep up also...Not sure of what they will do but will be interested to see how it goes.. .My dr is going to call on monday or tuesday and tell me what to do ..for now still taking the lex and hoping some miracle happens and I am fine by then but she was thinking of me going to go see a psychiatrist but with my experience they always want you to be on so many different meds or over medicate ...We will see..Hope you all have a great weekend...Your friend Mystic

Anakin - I hope you start feeling better soon! The whole situation is a blessing in disguise, you are right . . . wake up call and everything. I'm glad you had a good couple of days. Maybe when things have settled down you can get away somewhere for a long weekend to make up for it!

It was great..for the first two days..we ate like piggies and laid on the beach and enjoyed our pup. THEN there is always a THEN. I thought I was having a panic attack, but it was much different..I really thought it was a heart attack, except my only symptom was stabbing pain underneath my left breast that worsed when breathing deeply, so we jetted early this am and i went to an urgent care, I skipped the emergency room because I am still paying for the last time...It turned out to be in a prelim diagnosis...something called pleurisy (ploorisy??) where your lung wall gets inflammed and makes breathing difficult. It should go away in a few days, as should my smoking habit. It is kind of a wake up call, I guess. I basically feels like a cramp you get when you exercise too fast after eating just in a different place...
>
> You know what though? Optimism speaks. If I were is cancun right now feeling like i do, it would be beyond a panic attack...They may have diagnosed my problem differently and who knows then what...

Great advice from Lexy, our newly licensed professional - you sound even more confident now :-) What great ideas for us all!!!
Mystic, if I can add one more thought playing off of Lexy's last 2 notes: Don't feel you have to delve into your past until you are ready. The meds are a good base to give you the strength to do it, but if you have not found the right med or med combo maybe you need to wait til your meds are on track ... just a thought!

Lynne,
I switched from Lexapro to Wellbutrin, so let me know if I can help. My doctor had me stop taking Lexapro the day I started Wellbutrin, and I was on 20mg Lex at the time. The worst SE was insomnia (about 3 hours of sleep the first couple of nights), but that was about it. Good luck!

Simus,
Thanks for answering! Are you only on Wellbutrin now? What made you change and how are your symptoms on WB? How long have you been on it? My doc cautioned me not to take decongestants or drink a lot of coffee. Did you notice any increase ni blood pressure or even just palpitations? I started all this due to a diagnosis of PMDD (I'm 40 & perimenopausal) combined with some life changes that were increasing my depression and anxiety.I'm expecting the insomnia and am armed with Melatonin! I'm also expecting some agitation/hyperness due to the "activating" effect of WB, and I can usually handle that sort of behavior pretty well. I have a few more days of the 10mg of Lex and by this weekend I can switch. I'm anxious to get started and see how the new med feels.
Thanks again for answering and sorry for so many questions, but this is once again new territory!
