Hi EM, I have been on lex about six months now. I still have the "brain farts" daily. Is that what you are talking about. Kind of like losing your mind but then it comes back in a second or two!? I wouldn't worry too much about it unless its is really bothering you. Maybe you'll have to try a different time to take your lex or try another med altogether. Just my thoughts. mrs. C

Hi Mrs. C. - I just happen to work for a company that manages the healthcare in prisons and jails. Mental Health, of course, is a big part of what we do. I'm a recruiter. I think you said you are in New York. I can give you the names of some people to contact who can tell what sort of treatment plans are available for the incarcerated. Do you want me to email the info. to you? I think that would be better than me posting all their names and numbers on this site. You can reach me at Ldavis at cmsstl dotcom.

Hey Lexy, good to hear from you. My client is a pathological gambler. Easy to diagnose but planning for treatment has me stumped because he is in jail. I have been researching but have been coming up empty for people in prison. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Em - I have the fogginess too. I've been on Lex for 6 months or so. I switched my time to mid-afternoon since that is when I am most alert, thinking that my natural awake time would counteract it. I'm still too foggy for my liking, but I sleep better now, my insomnia is pretty much gone. So, playing around with the time may help a bit. I'm going to call my doctor about it though. I don't want to switch meds either, but maybe there's something else I can add. I'll let you know if I find out anything spectacularly helpful!

It depends upon how severe the fogginess is. If it is something you can live with and you feel good otherwise then I say stick with it. I do sometimes feel a little foggy in the mornings but it is very short lived. Nothing that really bothers me. I do still feel some mild side effects from the med but not every day and nothing too bad. Bye for now. Mrs. C

Hey Lynne, thanks for the offer. I will email you later. More importantly I am so glad that you have overcome the insomnia. I know that has been a big problem for you. It's good to have you back posting with us. You were missed! Hope you and Emily both find some solution to your fog! I have been having many "brain farts" lately. I think it's my age combined with the fact that my mind is racing lately with deadlines and kid's activities. Add lex to all that and you make one spaced out person! Luckily the lex helps me not to stress as much as I would have without it. It scares me to think what I would be like without it. Bye for now. Mrs. C

I am so laughing out loud right now! I have a aunt that is the same way and we get together to discuss "the tumor of the month". Maybe you can join our club. I had the nurse at my school check my blood pressure today and it was back down to normal. Phew!! what a relief, although I think she thinks I'm nuts! Talk to ya soon. Mrs. C

Wow, you guys have been yakking up a storm lately:~)
Sorry I haven't been posting lately, but it's not because of anything bad (*smile*). I just have been sooooooooo busy. I will have to take some time later to finish catching up on all the new posts.
I am feeling great; the weekend "vacations" seem to be helping a lot. Last weekend I accidentally took two days again, instead of just one like I had planned, and I did just fine. I think I am pretty much off my benzo now, too (*smile*). I know this feeling might turn out to be very temporary, but I am enjoying it while it is here. . .
I will post again when i have time:~)

. . . she loves all you yo-yo's!!
She is going in on Friday to have an ultra sound to check out her (darn! I never can remember the name of her condition - poly cystic something something??) Anyway, it's not a fun procedure, the way they have to do it, and she is a little nervous, so if everyone could just say a little prayer for her I know it will help.
I have been copying the posts every day and FAXing them to her when I get a bunch, so if you want to send her a message, I will make sure she gets it, okay??
She is really anxious to get back online with us all.

Hey Mystic - You've been through a really stressful week with the baby being born & that is likely to get you off your cycle a bit. Don't worry, this is just a temporary set back. Melissa's still got a lot of hormones in her system. It may take a bit of time for her body to get back to normal. And jaundice is pretty common. All the babies I know who had it, got over it with the lights. My niece had lights at home and she recovered just fine (she's 10 now and no signs of it - ha ha!)
Just take a deep breath and know that this too shall pass!!! I'm sending good, calming thoughts your way :-)

Mystic,
I am praying for you. You have been through a lot, and you are probably just physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausted. Even if you were on another med through all this, you might still be feeling bad just because of the stress. Try to get some rest if you can and eat healthy foods. Try not to worry, too. Worry won't solve anything and it will just drain you.
God bless.

Here's what my husband says his grandma always said about worry:
Worry is like a rocking chair. It keeps you moving, but you never get anywhere!
Wish I could get out of my rocking chair :-)
