Hi Guys,
I just have to say thank you so much for everyones support. You guys are all wonderful.
So, I've added 50 mgs of Wellbutrin SR to my daily dose of 15 mgs of Lexapro. (No, Wellbutrin SR does not come in 50 mg tablets...I'm cutting the 100 mg tablets in half. Some people say you shouldn't do this, but my pdoc assured me that it
s not a big deal.) I'll be gradually increasing to 300 mgs, but if I find that a lower dose works for me I'll stay there.I'm worried about the Wellbutrin causing an increase in my anxiety, but so far I haven't noticed any. (And I have my Xanax on hand.) I don't like adding another medication to the Lexapro, but if it helps me it will be worth it. In about 4 weeks I should see noticable results. I'll keep everyone posted.

Emily-- the pill OR the patch--I've been on both. I am working on a theory that the pill or the patch, or any hormonal birth control (the new ring is included here) causes big panic issues during the week women don't take them--the period week. I'm not sure why; I think the sudden stop in what had been a regular level of hormonal activity may be to blame. If any one has been having the same problems and is on the Pill, I'd like to know. My first series of panic attacks came after I stopped taking the pill--and was related to my period since it happened the same day in my cycle, with the same headaches and same panic. I'm not saying do without birth control, but I think it is significant that I know so many women who suffer from the same symptoms with the same chemical variable.

Well girlfriend you know that sometimes people make you feel insignificant and it is because they really dont know how to help...they are your friends and family but they just get discouraged about not being able to help you and seeing that you are still unhappy and not feeling good.>It took a long time for my husband to understand about all this and I'm a lucky person that he does but he still has his times when I am weird about taking the lex in the beginning he just cant understand why I cant take meds that will help me...and my friends will call but it is different when I'm not feeling good..But that is not a reflection on them...You know that if someone hasnt had to deal with it personally with themselves they have no f---- clue how it feels not even a little clue...they just think that you are feeling blue and that you can snap out of it...So you have us and we can help you and we know how you feel...So go for it Prozac whatever works.....Take care and I'm routing for you....Mystic

EM, I really think that your panic is from the increased dosage coupled with your period. Many of us had the same experience during ours. I was on lex over 3 months at 10mgs before I had my first "freak out attack" on my period. I think the increase will help with that. If next month's period is as bad or if you don't start to feel better soon maybe you should talk to your doctor. Hang in there, we're here with ya. Mrs. C

Texaschic, I totally agree with Mystic. Sometimes the only people who can truly understand are the people that have been through it themselves. That's why we are all here. This is such a caring group and we hope that you come every day for support.
Msytic, what a wonderful post! You are such a sweet person.

Hi Emily,
It may not feel like it now, but you're doing a great job. Your attitude has been very positive and your willingness to hang in there is quite admirable. I wish you all the best.

Before I started on lexapro 2 weeks ago, when ever i saw any injustice or inequility at work or around me i would get very upset.. to the point it was effecting my moods..and causing me much anxiety.
Does this sound familiar to anyone ?
Do these strong reaction get better on lex ?
I am asking because i need to figure out if I should stay in the job i am in.. or try to find another.

> Hi Guys,
>
> I talked to my pdoc this morning and asked him if I could try a low dose of Wellbutrin. He said it might help with my depression and lack of energy. I'll take my first dose tomorrow and what can I say - I'm a little scared. I'll be working my way up to 300 mgs (but I can stop at a lower dose if I feel like it's working.)
>
> He said the most common side effects are increased anxiety (yes, I'll be keeping a bottle of Klonopin or Xanax with me at all times) and insomnia. So, we'll see what happens. I'm really hoping for positive results and I'll keep everyone posted on my progress.

>I was on Lex for only 2 weeks, and it was making my lethargy even worse. I could barely make it through the day, and all I wanted to do was come home and go to bed. My doc added Wellbutrin, which I had been on years ago during my divorce and responded to well, and after only 5 days on 150mg, I notice an improvement. I went to work today and got more done than I have in months! A co-worker even commented on my energy.
I don't remember it working so fast last time, and I'm not ready to get on the treadmill or tackle anything major yet, but I'm typing here rather than lying in bed, so I'm encouraged!
Good Luck!! I hope it works well for you, to.

Hi~
I am not in your exact situation but I can say that a lot of things that used to get to me really do not. An example, tonight I went and got dinner at a curb side take away. Low and behold when I got home tonight, I got totally wrong food. I would have normally gotten upset and think that it was my luck and nothing good happens for me ect, get upset anxious the whole thing. Tonight I laughed and called them back, it ends up I got 3 California Pizza Kitchen pizzas for free, then when I went back to get my order they gave me a tiramsu for free (tiramsu comes right behind God, my famliy and boyfriend in the things I love in the world!) Even before all this I was able to see the postitive and not blame and get upset. Also a few mornings ago I got up and could not find my contact case, I was running around blind trying to find the thing, making me late for work ect. Instead of getting mad, upset ect I laughed it off. All this on my first day on the first day of my period. I am on 20mg on lexapro, this is my first week up at 20 and before that I had a week on 15 and before that about 9 weeks on 10mg. I wish I would have gone up sooner because of the great impact! Good luck, God Bless,
Lexy

Hey Lex Family!
Just wanted to let you know I may not be around as much this month. It is my last 29 days of graduate school and it feels like everything is due all at once plus my thesis is feeling like an extra 100 lbs. I am doing really well, writing out needs to be done on what days and times to get everything turned in early. I am proud of myself for pulling it together. Today was named Who's Who amoung American Graduate Students. It makes me want to smile, flick my pink polished middle finger and say take that depression.
For those of you newer people who are struggling right now, please take a look at some of my earlier post. I was a complete mess, crying all the time, shaking from anxiety, wanting to break up with my boyfriend, waiting to wither a way. If you feel like givimg up on lexapro, don't just do not be afraid to take a little more if you need to. All the docs I have talked to say 10mg is overrated. Good Luck, God Bless,
Lexy
PS I got a job today for post grad school, I am going to be working for as a therapist for adolescent pdoc, good thing I am getting to know about all this medication!

Do not make any life changes right now. That's my thought. Depression or anxiety or any kind of illness can change how you see things. Lex will help these things to become clearer. Give it some more time. At least 2 months. If you still feel upset about the issues at work maybe then consider looking for something else. Mrs. C
